In the month of June, the Central Okanagan saw more rain than expected in the mountains and the valley, which led to rising water levels in creeks and streams and flowing into Okanagan Lake.

A local state of emergency was declared for the City of Kelowna on June 14 and rescinded on June 19.

Okanagan Lake reached full pool on June 17. However, Mission Creek and Okanagan Lake levels are lowering slowly.

There is a significant amount of debris at the shoreline which will help to protect the shoreline during high water levels.

• Boaters are asked to minimize their wake close to the shoreline to help reduce further erosion and damage to property along the waterfront. 
• Residents are asked to leave the debris at the waterline until the lake level has receded. Logs and debris provide the best protection for our shoreline and residents are asked not to push them back into the lake.
• Please follow all safety and closure notices in parks, beaches and trails in the region. Use care when walking near creeks as banks can be slippery and unstable due to erosion.
